in-app vs 3rd party service purchases for call center

Dear Support

 

I am creating a service that gives an opportunity for a user to have audio / video consultation with a specialist sitting in my real-world call-center. My service has a web interface as well with the same functionality as the mobile app. 

To be able to get a consultation user should buy "consultations" from either mobile app or website. Consultations purchased from web should be available in application for the same user and vice versa. So basically mobile application is just an extension of my business.

Could you please advice should I use in-app or external payment gate in mobile app ?

Then an app isn't necessary according to the App Store Review Guidelines

2.12 Apps that are not very useful, unique, are simply web sites bundled as Apps, or do not provide any lasting entertainment value may be rejected.

 

The guideline does say "may" but your reason for having an app seems a bit weak.

Can you run an XPC service inside a plugin? (e.g. a Print Dialog Extension plugin)

I am creating a Print Dialog Extension (PDE) plugin. This plugin is called and displayed when a user Prints from different apps, e.g. TextEdit, Preview, Xcode, etc. Note that the plugin runs on top of the app that called the Print Plugin (for example, TextEdit).

Inside the plugin, I need to run an XPC service. I need an XPC service since the entitlements on the main app might not be sufficient for my needs, e.g. I need to connect to the network, and TextEdit does not have the required entitlements for network connection.

The problem is, I can't create an XPC connection. The handler always fire with XPC_ERROR_CONNECTION_INVALID.

1.) Is this because the PDE Plugin is not inside the main bundle/main app, e.g. Text Edit?
2.) If yes, how can I still run an XPC service within a PDE Plugin?
3.) If no, then why can't I successfully create an XPC connection?

Xcode does not automatically create service client proxy classes like Visual Studio or other IDE's. Read my post (#2) in this thread, which includes an example using NSURLConnection.

Details of your approach will depend on the specific WCF service contract. For example many WCF operations are not SOAP so instead of POSTing SOAP envelope XML as the body, you either GET (for WebGet operations) with querystring parameters or POST (for WebInvoke operations) a wrapped (WebMessageBodyStyle.WrappedRequest) or unwrapped (WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare) JSON body.

 

If you have invoked the WCF operations from JavaScript, Objective-C will be very similar.  If you are currently using jQuery.ajax, you will need to programmatically perform some of the steps that .ajax handles automatically.

 

If you are the developer of the WCF service, you have some flexibility to make it easy for yourself.

 

Once you have a very good understanding how everything works, you can then survey 3rd-party libraries to see whether one fits your needs (RestKit, MKNetworkKit, etc.).  Some libraries can declaratively bind request and response attributes to the model.

I have a digital photo restoration service in need of a website.  Is there a webiste plugin that will allow customer to upload photo to my website for quote?  Go Daddy, and Wordpress/MintThemes said it isn't something they support with their themes.  Other photo restoration website have the upload option.  Please advise.
