iOS Application with bluetooth dual mode

I'm about to develop the iOS Application with connect with bluetooth 4.0 dual mode.

But I don't know if

  • using Bluetooth 4.0 (CC2564) low energy and dual mode (with edr), Joining MFI Program is a must ?
  • If we using Custom profile on BLE, Joining MFI Program is a must ?
  • If we using Custom profile on Bluetooth 4.0 (CC2564) low energy and dual mode (with edr), Joining MFI Program is a must ?
  • Any case or application can have Data rate more than 1.7 Kbps

Thank you very much.

How do I change connection interval with core bluetooth.

hello, everyone..

I'm developing BLE(BT4.0) App with CC2540 and new iPAD.

I know that the keyfob demo(TI supported source) program can change connection interval for iOS.

But

I have some question. It's like below.

1. (CC2540 <------> iPAD)

    Could I change connection interval to 20ms(maybe it's min value) in iOS with core bluetooth?

    I couldn't find it anywhere and it was posslible in the keyfob demo source only.

2. (iPAD <--------> iPAD)

    if I use two iPAD(one is master, the other one is slave), where I can set connection interval value?

     I don't know  what is default connection interval value in core bluetooth.

I read many threads and documents for a while but I didn't get appropriate answer.

In apple's document,

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------

Interval Max * (Slave Latency + 1) ≤ 2 seconds

Interval Min ≥ 20 ms

Interval Min + 20 ms ≤ Interval Max

Slave Latency ≤ 4

connSupervisionTimeout ≤ 6 seconds

Interval Max * (Slave Latency + 1) * 3 < connSupervisionTimeout

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------

above things can be set only slave side like below,

In TI source,

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------

// Minimum connection interval (units of 1.25ms, 80=100ms) if automatic parameter update request is enabled
#define DEFAULT_DESIRED_MIN_CONN_INTERVAL 80

// Maximum connection interval (units of 1.25ms, 800=1000ms) if automatic parameter update request is enabled
#define DEFAULT_DESIRED_MAX_CONN_INTERVAL 800

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------

is it true?

I want to change it in core bluetooth or iOS App too.

please, give me answer...

- YOUNG JIN

Receiving data on bluetooth in OSX

Hi all!

My first post here, have read these forums frequently but now it´s time to ask for some specific questions:

I have a school project where I would like to be able to receive the raw data sent from a microcontroller UART (serial bus) either over USB or bluetooth (whichever is the easiest). The data from the microcontroller is in turn going to be saved to a file.

Any ideas where to start ? Anyone have some sample code ? I am a beginner using XCode, so all suggestions are welcome

Greetings from Norway!

Re: does apple have a bluetooth made?

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Apple utilizes industry-standard Bluetooth technology in all their products.

You should read about Bluetooth here:  http://www.bluetooth.com/Pages/Bluetooth-Home.aspx
