Re: Why wont Safari 5.195 download on my MacBook Pro which I just updated with Snow Leopard?

Can you provide the specific symptom that makes you think Safari will not download?  You need not use Safari... do you have another web browser?  Like Firefox, Google Chrome, Sea Monkey, Camino?

Need some help installing XCode 4.2 for Snow Leopard

I've just purchased an iOS developer account to download Xcode 4.2 for snow leopard,

but I cannot get it to install correctly. I also see the "The installation failed" screen

after choosing my installation location.

I've tried most of the solutions I found online, like setting my system clock back a year,

deleting my 3.x.x Xcode installation, making a temporary admin account to install,

but nothing has worked yet.

Here are some troublesome lines I pulled out of my install.log file for reference, though

I cannot tell what they might mean. Any advice or help will be appreciated.

Jan 10 21:11:15 Doctor-Steven Installer[175]: IFJS: *** exception: ReferenceError: Can't find variable: SDKPresent

Jan 10 21:11:16 Doctor-Steven Installer[175]: IFJS: *** exception: TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'my.target.systemVersion')

Is there a working version of xcode for snow leopard out there?

I downloaded v 4.2 from developer.apple and when I try to install it on my computer it says "unknown installation error occurred" and "you may want to contact the software manufacturer."  It doesn't give me anything else...

Similarily, I used adobe flash pro to build my .ipa file and am curious if I even need xcode - is there a working version of Application Loader for Snow Leopard available for download?

Thanks a bunch.

can't instal xcode 3.2.5 on my Snow Leopard

Hi everyone

I have a problem installing xcode 3.2.5 with ios sdk 4.2. I made sure the download is checked for consistency. THe image got mounted. double clicked on the package, licences accepted, password entered. start install, and a few seconds into install the operation is interrupted and an info appears: unknown installation error occured.

are there any steps that could be taken to diagnose and eliminate the problem ?
