Re: How to load web content and set homepage on simple iOS browser app

I was kind of hoping this wouldn't require much coding. It seems a little bizarre that one can build a web browser off the shelf but giving it a hompage is much more complicated!

How to load web content and set homepage on simple iOS browser app

Hi,

I'm not much of a developer but what I want to achieve shouldn;t really require much development as I understand it.

My ultimate goal is to use configurator to restrict an iPad to a single app which I will build. This app is basically nothing more than a web viewer. It doesn't even need back and forward buttons. What I would like it to do is load a site that is cached locally on the iPad.

My questions then are:

How do I put the web folder in with the rest of the app?

How do I set the cached site as the homepage?

I'm using an up to date copy of Xcode on Mountain Lion. The app need only run on an iPad & iPad Mini.

Can I create content in iBook Author and push it to my Newsstand App?

Good afternoon!

I am totally new at iOS developement and I am exploring the possibilities of the Newsstand app.

I started building an app following a tutorial and up to now the basic code is working.

What I am trying to do right now is see if I can create a magazine edition in iBook Author and push it as my new issue.

So far, I got nothing but a blank issue.

Is it something possible or do I have to build my own type of asset reader?

Thank you!

Marie-Eve

What is the "iOS rich content paste pasteboard type" when copying from Safari?

When I copy text from a website in Safari, two pasteboard items are created. This is the output of [pasteboard items]

(

        {

        "Apple Web Archive pasteboard type" = < [...archive...] >;

        "public.text" = "pages of a journal,";

    },

        {

        "iOS rich content paste pasteboard type" = <694f5320 72696368 20636f6e 74656e74 20706173 74652070 61737465 626f6172 64207479 7065>;

    }

)

What is the "iOS rich content paste pasteboard type" all about? What does the data actually represent? Is this representation ever used by other apps?

Thanks.

NSTableView content based on a selection of another TableView

I have 2 entities, entity A and entity B. Entity A has a many-to relation ship with B. I have 2 table views, in the first it displays all entities A. When one entity A is selected I want the other table view to display the contents of the relationship that A has with B, so all of the entities B that are in the Relationship set of A should be displayed. How would I go about doing this?
